The word 'Pamplemousse' adopted a new definition in 2002. Since then, the entity has commissioned and produced seven multimedia collaborations and over 60 compositions. Staying faithful to its mission to expand the auditory realm of historically relevant contemporary music, the ensemble performs year-round at venues across the country, bringing their music to culturally vibrant or thirsty cities. Each commissioned composer receives multiple performances of his/her work, a unique trait of an NYC ensemble. The organization has greatly advanced the careers of at least five composers, and enhanced that of a dozen more. Pamplemousse recently released a CD on Carrier Records of all original works, which was supported by the American Music Center’s Composer Assistance Program. Pamplemousse’s music has been presented by organizations such as the MATA Festival (NYC) and the Austin Museum of Digital Arts (Austin, TX), and by venues across the country. The group has held residencies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Hartwick College (Oneonta, NY), Rensing Arts Center (Pickens SC), Southern Wesleyan University (Central SC), Diapason Gallery (NYC), and Northwest Vista College (San Antonio TX).
